PSYC 6180: History of Psychology

Spring Semester, 2009.

A recurring question or issue in the history of psychology, beginning with the Golden Age of Greece and continuing into the current era of cognitive psychology, is that of the mind's relation to the body or brain.  Arguably, for example, it defines the "tension" between neurobehavioral and cognitive emphases in psychology today.  This question is used as a framework to organize and examine much of what has happened in the history of psychology.
